Let Jimi Take Over
Netflix recently added this awesome Jimi Hendrix documentary. Of course I’ve heard all his hits, but I’ve never really spent much time digging in. However, since I am in the midst of Keith Richard’s autobiography “Life,” which happens to mention Jimi multiple times, I figured I’d check it out. I have to say, that while I sometimes feel as if (with the help of youtube and the like) I’ve seen every version of jaw dropping showmanship out there, however nothing really compares to Jimi. This guy just has something different and memorizing about him, you can’t help but be entranced. Not sure if it’s the fuzzed-out tones that are way more psychedelic than anyone at the time, the loose grove of the super tight band, the casual vocal approach or just the way he moves. I am sure it’s a combo of all three, he was just an all around badass entertainer! All I can say is watch it and decide for yourself.
